Neopost has been developing/testing computer generated stamps planned to be dispensed by small free standing kiosks.

To promote interest, sample stamps were shown at various trade shows while development continued.  Subsequently stamps were printed at Neopost offices in several locations where employees were encouraged to purchase and use this new postage while Neopost was awaiting approval from the United States Postal Service (USPS) for permission to offer the stamps to the general public.

Beginning in the summer of 2001 examples of these stamps were offered on eBay.  Prices quickly sky-rocketed to over $50.00 for a pane of four which was the format of production.  Stamps were only available at the then current 34¢ rate for the first ounce of First Class Mail.

Beginning in the late spring of 2002, Neopost switched production to a 10 stamp pane.  Employees could soon also print postage in other rates.
